Unlike a lot of superstars, Elton John recognizes the contradictions between his island certainly, extravagant lifestyle and the average comparatively more than other lead. So when in 1995 he allowed his partner, David Furnish, to record her daily activities for a documentary, he probably knew that such unrestricted access would cast him in a vulnerable situation and perhaps unflattering light. That the representation would be so interesting, however, he may not have fully anticipated.
